    Currency-
    Swedens currency is called krona. They refuse to join the European currency of euros. There are many different bills they use for an amount of krona. There is a 5 krona bill, a 100 krona bill, and a 10,000 krona bill, but there are many other krona bills.


    Capital- The capital of Sweden is named Stockholm. This city is the wealthiest and largest in Scandinavia.

    Major religion-
    Swedes major religion is Asatro. it is manly practiced in Scandinavia. Asatro is a religion that was revived in the early 70's. Asatro is the Germaic Neopaganism and is polytheistic. This religion has a wide variety of beliefs and ideals. This religion is also called Heathenism.
    Government/Prime Minster-
    The government of Sweden is a constitutional monarchy, but also a Parliamentary democracy. Sweden is ruled by prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. He was the prime minister since October 6th of 2006.

    Major cultural traditions-
    Swedish people celebrate New Years, May1st, June 6th, and Pask. Pask is like what we know of as Easter, but the way the Swedish people celebrate it seems like our Halloween.

    In 2010 the population was approximately 9,259,000

    Languages-
    Swedish. This language is similar to Danish and Norwegian.

    Climate-
    Stockholm is warmer than any other part of Sweden because of the Gulf Stream. Although near the mountains it is nearly sub-arctic. The annual rainfall is 24 inches.

    Brief History-
    Sweden was involved in 26 wars ranging from 1521 all the way to 1814, including the Danish Liberation War. Sweden was also at war before 1521 with some parts of what is now Germany. Some people who were famous from Sweden/Swedish are Carolina Klüft, Elin Nordegren ( Tiger Woods wife).

    Geography-
    Most of Sweden is covered with dense forest. The lowest point in Sweden
is in the bay of Lake Hammarsjön, near Kristianstad at
  • -2.41 m (−7.91 ft) below sea level. The Highest point is Mt Kebnakaise which is at 2,111 m (6,926 ft) above sea level. Sweden has many rivers including Vanern and Vattern.
